 approach

Change, growth and development fundamentally occurs through people. When we talk about people skills we are talking about how humans relate to themselves, to each other, and to the environment on which we depend. Regardless of our technical expertise, we are unlikely to thrive if our human needs for safety, belonging and purposefulness are not met. To facilitate groups well means acknowledging these needs in order to enable more powerful dialogue, exchange and engagement.  Coaching offers the individual reflection and learning space we frequently miss when working on change and transition.  I bring this ethos and approach to all my facilitation and coaching work, whether in a business or not-for-profit sector.

Facilitation

If you don't have a sustainability strategy, you don't have a strategy. My purpose as facilitator is to enable the capacity of organisations and individuals to respond to our sustainability challenge. Whether you work directly in a sustainability context, or are wondering how the transition to sustainability will impact on your team or organisation. I can help through facilitating a strategic workshop; design a learning and development programme or an event to convene key stakeholders to agree a way forwards.

coaching

I have a particular interest in developing leaders capable of navigating the sustainability transition. However my coaching purpose is wider: helping people to build capacity for their own transitions, often into new jobs or roles. My coaching complements group facilitation through 1:1 support for better awareness of themselves, each other and the environment on which we depend.

I mostly coach global clients in the energy, science and NGO sectors in Europe, US, Asia and Africa.  I also help build coaching capacity in teams and organisations through coaching skills training.
